Christine Olson, B.Sc., P.Bio. – President and Senior Advisor
Christine has over 20 years’ experience in regulatory and environmental permitting and compliance. Her experience ranges from conventional oil and gas development to in-situ oil sands, unconventional gas, Liquid Natural Gas plants, chemical plants and power plants. Christine has worked in the four western provinces of Canada as well as several states.
Christine’s meticulous approach to executing every project speaks to her commitment to regulatory compliance. Christine is a natural born leader who works closely with key stakeholders, she strives to ensure clients and peers are current on regulatory affairs. She values strong work ethic to drive projects to completion on budget, on schedule and in compliance.
Christine Kleppe – Project Coordinator
Christine is a resourceful, meticulous professional with over 18 years of experience in strategic problem-solving, customer relationship management, and project controls. She manages projects from proposal to completion to ensure the project execution is efficient and done in a timely manner. This includes working directly with clients to understand expectations and scope of projects. She tracks projects for accuracy on schedule and budget, ensuring smooth communication of any variances from the project deliverables.
Christine has experience with regulatory requirements in Saskatchewan (MER), British Columbia (BC-ER) and Alberta (AER, AEP), and has a strong working knowledge of DDS (AB), OneStop (AB), Kermit (BC), AMS (BC), and IRIS (SK). Christine liaises directly with governing regulatory agencies to ensure accuracy of information as it is translated from the regulations. She works closely with clients, engineers, project managers and Crimson personnel to ensure established goals and objectives are met.
Shannon Makinson, B.A. – Senior Regulatory and Environmental Coordinator
Shannon is a key player with an innate ability to identify potential issues, communicate ideas, evaluate strategies and implement solutions. With almost 30 years experience she is recognized in the oil and gas field as a business professional with an aptitude for meeting compliance targets, communication and building trusting relationships with stakeholders, consultants and various regulatory agencies.
Shannon has experience in preparing and submitting regulatory and environmental applications across Western Canada. She has also managed several Canadian Energy Regulator pipeline projects though application and approval. Shannon mentors junior staff and provides leadership to the entire team. Her attention to detail results in proficient audits and thorough reporting and applications.
Shannon’s greatest skill is her interpersonal relationships. Shannon ensure all her clients concerns and requests are listened to and resolved to the clients satisfaction.
steve adams - senior Regulatory specialist
Steve is an experienced Oil & Gas regulatory advisor with 18 years of expertise in regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and midstream regulatory support. Since 2011, he has focused on regulatory requirements for both brownfield and greenfield projects, managing applications, approvals, reporting, compliance, and project coordination with agencies such as the AER, BCER and MER. His work includes substantial experience with AER Directive 038, Directive 060, Directive 056 and Directive 055, ensuring projects meet all technical and operational requirements.
Steve is highly effective at collaborating across disciplines, communicating professionally with internal teams, regulators, and third-party consultants. Steve consistently enhances organizational compliance, minimizes project risks, and ensures efficient, well-coordinated regulatory execution.
Amy Clutton, B.Sc., EPt - Regulatory and Environmental Coordinator
Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Alberta. Amy has a working knowledge of Provincial and Federal energy and environmental acts and regulations. In her years of professional experience in the environmental sector, Amy has worked as a weed inspector, wildlife rehabilitator, travelling to destinations such as South Africa to learn about wildlife disease, sustainable resource utilization, animal rehabilitation and veterinary care in rural areas.
Amy has a keen eye for detail and is highly adaptable, organized and reliable. With her strong work ethic and dedication, she is a key player when it comes to identifying environmental risks by following the guidelines set by the regulatory bodies and operational procedures.
Cynthia Cote, P.Eng. – Senior Process Engineer
Cynthia is a professional process engineer with almost 20 years experience in design, operation, research and strategy development. She is a forward-thinking engineer with knowledge on technologies and strategy formulation to support clients in achieving their goals.
Cynthia assists clients in understanding their carbon footprint and better prepare for achieving GHG targets. She is fluent in clean energy solutions and is current on technologies to support clients on the energy transition journey.
Cynthia performs air dispersion modelling studies on various air contaminants of concern, stemming from combustion, venting or flaring.
Cynthia has a solid oil & gas background where she excels at providing technical support on large projects from startup to completion, including construction, commissioning, and continuous improvements. Cynthia is an integral member of every team and forms strong relationships with all stakeholders. She is an asset in business development as clients return based on previous successes.
